An Open Letter to Readers

***Warning!  Contains Spoilers for POINT OF NO RETURN!***

I have so many wonderful readers who’ve followed Kathleen, Blane, and Kade on this journey and I am ever so grateful to them for loving these characters as much as I do.  I know lots of people, particularly Blane fans, have questions about how I chose to end the series. Some of these fans have vented hurtful and vitriolic messages to me via Facebook or messages or Amazon reviews. To those readers, I have nothing to say. To the Blane fans that understand someone had to win and someone had to lose, I want to talk with you about the why. I feel you deserve that much.

I completely understand what it’s like to be so invested in a character that their tears feel like your own and your happiness hinges on theirs. I’ve been reading romance novels since I was eight years old. Believe me, I get it.  When I set out to write this love triangle, I knew very well that only one man would end up with the girl. Love triangles are tricky, as any writer of them can attest, and I’m sure some writers shy away from them for this very reason—the angry readers whose guy doesn’t win.

The easy way out, of course, is to write the story so that one man does something awful, something unforgiveable, so that the heroine’s choice is easy. I didn’t want to do that. That’s not Blane and it’s not Kade. All three characters have made some poor choices over the course of the series, but they’ve also grown in who they are and in their love for one another.

In the end, The Kathleen Turner Series is a story about love, redemption, and sacrifice—and not just for Kathleen, but between the brothers as well.

Blane is a wonderful man and it’s been a joy to create him as a character, change his life, and turn him into an even better man than he was in NO TURNING BACK. Kathleen did that, and his love for her. Could Kathleen have been happy with either brother? Yes, absolutely. Was there a brother more suited for her? Yes, absolutely. Kade and Kathleen clicked from the moment I wrote their first scene together. Kade “got” Kathleen and Kathleen understood Kade. While I may have wavered in my own decision of how the series would end, Kathleen and Kade never stopped clicking. Them being together was…inevitable.

Can we love more than one person in our lives? I think so. I know I have fallen in love more than once. Do you ever really fall out of love with a person? To some extent, yes, but I believe there’s always a little piece of your heart that remembers that past love. As Blane says in POINT OF NO RETURN, part of him will always love Kathleen—how could he not? She changed his life for the better. Is he still “in” love with her, which is something quite different? No, I’d say not.

Did Blane get the traditional romance genre Happily-Ever-After complete with wife and 2.3 kids? No, he didn’t, but I’d also say that wasn’t something he desired any longer by the end of POINT OF NO RETURN. His life took a different path. I know many single people who once thought they’d be married with kids by the time forty rolled around, but that didn’t happen. Does that mean they’re not perfectly happy and content with their lives, careers, and their chosen relationships? Absolutely not.

By the end of POINT OF NO RETURN, we see Blane in a successful career that he’d worked for his entire life, no longer chained to his uncle or Kandi (thanks to Kathleen), and in a relationship with a woman who needed him as much as Kade needed Kathleen. An added bonus is that he’s still close to his brother, has a sister-in-law he loves dearly, and nieces and nephews that he can play the doting uncle and still get to send home at the end of the day.

Blane is the sacrificing hero, which has always been his character, from the day he picked up Kade from the orphanage, through his tours as a Navy SEAL, and to the day he knew Kathleen belonged with his brother. Is it sad? Yes, and my heart broke for him. But Blane wouldn’t want us to cry. He’d say, well, I’ll let him say it in his own words:

“I appreciate the sentiment, I really do. I loved Kathleen and envisioned a future for us together. That didn’t happen, but that’s okay. I’m a grown man and I live with the consequences of my actions, the choices—and mistakes—I made. That’s who I am. Kathleen called me a ‘good’ man. I think she knows, knows that a sacrifice was made, but that I don’t regret making that sacrifice. I could have cut Kade from my life entirely for what happened—I’d guess that’s what he expected me to do—but I love him too much for that. Love. It changed everything. In the end, I loved my brother more than I loved myself, and nothing will make me regret that.

So thank you for your empathy, but cry no tears for me. I’m doing quite well.”

Well. I think that’s all that needs to be said, at least by myself or Blane.

Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Tiffany Snow

    • I feel sad for you that this was necessary and angry at the readers who were selfish enough to put you in this position, but again, we get to see more of your wonderful writing and whatever team people may have been on, the ending written makes the best sense all round and was right for Kathleen which after all has to be the important thing. As I said in my Amazon review, I thought the book was “beautiful and perfect”. I’m no writer, so I probably won’t do a very good job of putting my point across, but like others, I have never before found myself so engrossed in a book, I have never felt the inclination to “like” on Facebook or read the website cover to cover, but this series is written so well that I couldn’t help but feel such an understanding of the characters in this series, through a whole rollercoaster of emotions and it’s made me a little obsessed! Yet, I don’t have a case of book hangover, I feel happy contented closure for the characters. I will definitely read them all again (and probably again after that), but for now, I will return to my life and await the next Tiffany Snow novel (and hopefully Kade’s Turn too)! In the meantime Tiffany should feel hugely proud and positive about the glorious series she has written. She is such a fantastic author. (P.S. I was team Kade!!! – not just because he’s tall, dark and dangerous, but because of the true connection and understanding the two of them have had right from the start. I’ve never disliked Blane and he is a good man, just not the man for Kathleen). Wow, I can’t believe I’ve just sat and written all this about fictional characters – it’s just not me, but never mind. Needs must! Go Tiffany and go away silly haters! x

      • I loved the Kathleen Turner series I very much like the add on she wrote. I was not upset that she ended with kade in many ways he need her more ,but this book was not written as well as the others it played more on the sex between them then only light touch of feelings between the two. We got to see the connection between Blane and Kathleen in the other books wish I got that with Kade and Katleen. Was it a typo when Blane said “he always be in love with Kathleen ” or I think it aired read he always love Kat.some day his true love may come I like to read that hint maybe Branna finds true love and she can intro Blane to someone . Look forwards to more of your writing

      • HI Tiffany,
Honestly though I was totally team Kade I was still so sad for Blane because no matter what he says in your open letter he is in fact still in love with Kathleen…

How ever Branna being in his life does fill a certain void for him and for Branna who I do believe loves Kade as much as Blane loves Kathleen.. unrequited love really sucks but at least they do have each other to comfort themselves with knowing full well how each other really feels… this is probably a very good basis for respect and a different kind of love beyond the all consuming fire they felt for Kade and Kathleen…
At the end of it love is love and we all take what we can get if that perfect for us love doesn’t come along or passes us by in favor for a perfect for them kind of love and we can still be happy and even content which is better than happy which is so fleeting at best..

As for the haters I think that you Ms. Tiffany A. Snow should be proud of yourself that your writing can incite such controversial emotions over a beautifully written love story.

Apathy is not what I would want my readers to feel when reading my work… love and or hate same coin two sides is way more flattering. So I think you and the team behind you should all be flattered and job well done!

    • A beautiful letter. Well said! It is the mark of a good book and a great writer when the literature incites emotion because the readers have become entangled in the plot and have emotionally invested themselves in the characters. I would take the outrage and negativity as a compliment and a testament to your outstanding writing. I, myself, have enjoyed the Kathleen Turner series and if everyone read all the books, the ending was there all along. It was in the interaction between Kade and Kathleen from their first encounter. It was in Kade’s honourable efforts to stay away from Kathleen because she was with Blane despite his feelings. It was in the mistakes that Blane made and the way he continued to hurt Kathleen with Kandi; with his lack of trust in Kathleen (in relation to Kade and their uncle), As the characters developed, it was also evident in Blane’s ambitions and aspirations. Kathleen would not have fitted or would have struggled to belong in his world. I dare say that I wasn’t surprised with how the book ended. One of the best things about your books Tiffany, is that they are well written. The editing is brilliant – no grammatical errors, no misspelled words, no disjointed sentences or incorrect use of ‘then’ and ‘than’ or ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ (to name a few). In other words, there were no distractions that would have detracted from the story. So, I would let the negative comments and reviews run like water off a duck’s back and celebrate the end of an amazing series with the many fans who loved it from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the new series.

      • I totally agree with Rita. This series is the absolute best I have ever read. The characters were brought to life so very well. I was rooting for Kade and Kathleen. I think Blane’s story was done very well and it didn’t leave me wondering if he would be OK. He is where he wanted to be in his life and Kade became a better man because of Kathleen and Bland. so, I think this was a win for everyone. I shed a lot of tears because everyone’s story was written beautifully. Thank you, Tiffany 🙂

    • I totally got it and even Kade said in the end, Blane is living his life the way he wants. We knew from the moment Kathleen laid eyes on Kade in the courtroom there would be conflict. And Blande, selfless, knowing what was best. Regardless, the series was an incredible read!! Now–get that Turn on a Dime-Kade’s story out ASAP missy!!! And thanks for the great read! I REALLY enjoyed it!!

  4. I think people are upset because they are so involved with the story. They can identify with the characters so much. I could accept either Kade or Blane, but I was hoping for Kade & Kathleen to be together. They are soul mates from the very beginning. Blane did learn and grow. The books were extremely well written and involved the readers so emotionally, hence the responses. I can’t wait for the next series, whoever it involves.

  5. What a great letter and I actually “got it” while reading the book. Even though in the begining of the series I wanted Blane to win then later on it was Kade and by book 5 I just wanted them all to be happy with the choices the three of them made.. Good Job T. S.

  10. An amazing series and I’m sorry you have so many people saying hurtful things. Would you consider a spin off giving Blane a happy ending love as well? One day we’d love to see one more book 🙂 if not though it is a great ending and I am glad Kat found her happy ending.

  11. Tiffany- I wanted to say this earlier but couldn’t as I didn’t want to create a spoiler on FB. I actually thought through about the middle of this last book that Blane was going to do something unforgivable and that I would no longer like him. To be fully honest, I wasn’t sure I started this last book liking him much anyways. The way you ended the series was clever because you gave all of the characters redemption and I actually found myself rooting for Blane to find happiness with Branna. Should you choose to revisit Blane’s character, I think you opened up the perfect opportunity to leave a few loose ends that could create another wonderful series based on Blane and Branna. I would love to see a story based on them and, based on all of the fan commotion this ending caused, I think there are many others who would too! Either way, this series is a work of art and will always be my most favorite series ever! Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication to us fans! Love what you do and can’t wait for more!

  13. I appreciate you letter but I think Blane and Branna was forced almost like they were a consolation prize for each other. It would have been more true to Blane if he went on to live an opened ended life and still have Kade and Kathleen in his life.

  14. I was always hoping Kathleen and Blane would end up together, but by the end I was happy with Kathleen and Kade. Honestly someone has got to win and someone got to lose! So here’s what I’m thinking, you can write a short Novella about Blane’s life 10 years down the road and how he ends up with me! We don’t need to have 2.3 kids and we don’t even need to get married we just need to be together and happy…. Thanks!!!

  15. Thank you so much for helping us to understand, for mitigating the sting. May be all of us Blane-girls should have digested the ending for 2 days before commenting then the reaction would have been less emotional. I am still sad for Blane but if he is content with his life then I can take the result better as well and it is true, there was from the beginning a special chemistry between Kat and Kade. Iam settling for the route that Blane’s sacrifize has given happiness at least for Kade and Kat (and Kade had not a lot of that), whether Blane and Kat would have been really happy is in the open…
Thanks again, Tiffany. We should trust you more as a writer and as an understanding person. You have the insight to create fabulous grown-up characters but obviously we needed more guidance by you which you have given us now.

  16. Thank you, Tiffany for this letter. You are a class act. Although I was/am gutted that Blane lost Kathleen, I do understand that he is the better man to survive the loss of Kat. Kade would not survive it. I think all of your readers love Blane and don’t want him to be alone. He is the type of man who does need a woman to love and to love him. Not sure Branna is the one. Please write Blane’s HEA. You are an amazing writer to create such passionate characters that have given your readers emotional opinions. Good and bad. Only a good writer can do that. Keep them coming, Tiffany. I will read all your work.

But I may ask, if you are a romance reader from age 8 why don’t you understand why some would want a happy ending for all? we did invest time and money into a ideas you were selling,
I don’t think anyone should be mean and nasty to your person, but you must understand where one is coming from, and negative comment are to be well come because it show you have fans who did buy your ideas and at one time love it. 19. Tiffany, The fact that you had the courage to write a love triangle with an acceptable ending. You are most writers who have written a love triangle either as yous said made one do something terrible or they kill one of the men off. You did the right thing and being a romantic I had a feeling Kade was winning. He was always stepping out of the picture because he loved Kathleen.

It was always Kade who had to bring it to the attention that Kathleen was getting the raw deal. Whether it was when Kathleen was in the office or trying to help Blaine. Kade was always close by and seemed to know when Kathleen needed help. Blaine loved his brother more then anyone. I think Blaine was in like with Kathleen or he would never have been so quick to judge.

I am glad you have brought out the importance of caring for family. Blaine still has Kade in his life and he knows Kathleen is happy and he is happy pursuing his career. Of course being a mystery – suspense as well as a romantic, I would not be surprised if every so often there might be a stand alone book from you with Blaine, his brother ,and his sister-in-laws come together to save the world from some danger. Don’t let this people who are saying hurtful things bother you. Good writing.

  21. Negative reviews or differing opinions don’t equate bitter losers and hateful reviewers. I didn’t read anything on amazon that was hateful. People were venting about various items they found disappointing in the series. So not liking how the book ended doesn’t make us all hateful readers. I’m totally offended.

    • I think it’s more about some hateful comments than negative reviews or different opinions. Some people are just overreacting and over dramatic.

  22. I’ve really enjoyed the ride you’ve taken us on with these books. The feeling of OMG, the book is done is just one part of what makes these books so fun to read. I’m truly sorry that some people just love to hate and will sit behind their computers and spue so much hatred. I personally have always been “Team Kathleen”. It didn’t matter to me which guy she chose, I just wanted her to have her happily ever after, and you did that, and I feel you did an awesome job of that. I’m sorry to see the stories end for Kathleen, but look forward to reading another adventure you take us on.

Thank you for bringing them to life.

    Sincerly,

  23. I loved the series and saw the value of each of the men for different reasons. In the end I could have seen Kathleen with either Blane or Kade and both scenarios would have been justified – the characters were that well written. Both men were beautiful, sexy, passionate, and dedicated to Kathleen as well as incredibly flawed and I rooted for their redemption because they both deserved happiness.

And therein lies my confusion. I understand that someone “wins” and someone “looses” in real life however when I immerse myself not only in a novel but in a series I don’t want reality to come in and ruin the fantasy for me. I want what real life doesn’t provide – a happy ever after for all of the characters in which I’ve become so invested. So the fact that Kathleen ended up with Kade didn’t upset me (actually I was rooting for him), what disappointed me was the fact that I felt there was a profound and utter sadness to what Blane had become at the end. He was back to living the life that Kathleen had taught him wouldn’t bring him happiness or fulfillment. He was back to finding contentment while not realizing the joy that Kathleen – and really love – had brought him.

You are an amazing writer and I truly enjoyed the journey… I guess I just wish that the destination hadn’t left one character still adrift.

    • Alison, I think you said it perfectly….only question is: How could he have found his HEA if his only true love is Kat? May be he is happier seeing her and his brother happy than another relationship could offer to him.

    • I fully agree with your statement. The fact that Blane did not have his happy ending, the fact that he ‘s left un-changed is what is upsetting me. It makes Kathleen & Kade look selfish. I’m not saying they are, but it appears that way. And, yes Tiffany Snow is an amazing writer and I will continue buying her books.

I always felt that it was unforgivable what Blane did to Kathleen by believing his uncle when he told him that Kat and Kade were having an affair and he wouldn’t believe Kat and he broke off their engagement. That to me was the entire turning point in the whole series. I thought that that was unforgivable. And I am glad that Kat felt the same. 🙂 Brilliant story. Brilliant author!! <3

These characters and their story are YOUR creation and as an avid reader I am always thankful for writers who so engagingly invite us into a world of their creation, especially when they do it with such talent as you have. Even if my imagination would lead to a conclusion other than what an author wrote, they are the AUTHOR and I’m a guest in their imagination.

  31. Well, how do I begin. That I am sorry for Blane ‘s pain is a statement in fact. I agonized over what he was feeling, and I had to remind myself IT ‘S FICTION, THESE PEOPLE DON ‘T EXIST…
Tiffany Snow, I love your writing, but please no more love triangles. I loved Blane, I loved him for Kathleen, and please don’t tell me he’s not still in love with her-he does not love her, he adores her. There are loves that can not be forgotten. I know from personal experience. All I have to say is I’m happy Kathleen is happy, but I’m sad Blane is just contented with his life.
. When I first realized where the story was going, I didn’t want to finish the book, but then I realized how stupid that would be.you are a great writer, you creat characters that come to life, but I think that you making Kade into someone with redeeming qualities is a stretch. I don’t know of anyone that has come back from beinng a killing machine and ends up being who he was in the end. I could go on, but I won’t. I always said it was your book to write and that you did. My slight dissatisfaction is not your fault or responsibility. Best of luck on future books.

    • “I don’t know of anyone that has come back from being a killing machine and ends up being who he was in the end.” I know this will sound crazy, but I actually knew a man whose younger brother was a hit man for the mob. His told me one day his brother walked away, ended up in a loving relationship, married, had children and went to church every Sunday and lived down the road from him. Where did they live? Of all places, Indiana!

      • Perhaps in that particular instance it was an act of God, or he had a concience and it eventualy it gotto him. In the case of Kade there was no such moment. It was all Kathleen and how can any woman change such a hardened man. Everyone knows the saying, you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. My heart still breaks for Blane. I keep thinking of all the special, quiet moments between them, it’s not easy to just accept the given, and yet, you have to.ALTHOUGH, Tiffany can write a follow -up story. set years later, when the kids are grown, and Kade has died and then as two oldish people they can then come together. Look, I’m just sad for Blane, that’s all.

  32. I absolutely loved the ending and completely understand how Blane grew as a character. Blane getting together with someone else and having a replica of what he shared with Kat would have seemed forced in this final book and not genuine. I’m happy with the ending for all of the characters involved. I read this book while I was at school and could not help my teary eyes, foolish smile and the occasional squeal. Miss Snow books are my poison, my drug of choice. I thank you for such a potent, euphoric high.

  33. While I think it is perfectly ok and normal that not all readers are happy with the ending of the book (and I need to count myself in the unhappy group – even though it is romantic literature, I found the happy ending to be a bit of an overkill, but I had the same problem with the ending of Harry Poter :D), it is absolutely not ok to attack the author for it or be upset for the character and I am sorry to hear that is has been happening on quite a large scale obviously. It is fiction and it is kind of sad if people cannot seem to separate it from reality. As far as I am concerned, I still enjoyed the stories and am sure I would have done no matter what the ending was. After all, the ending was just a small part of the journey with Blane, Kade and Kathleen.

  34. I don’t understand how or why people would subject someone to vitriol simply because they don’t like how the author ended her very own book. The story is hers to tell. I’m a voracious reader of everything and nothing in many years has gripped me like this series–it was a gift. I am incredibly thankful for the hours of great reading that Ms. Snow has given me and I wish others would feel the same and be more polite if they disagree about the ending. I’m aghast that such a talented writer would have to deal with that.

Spoilers here, but yes, it’s very sad for Blane and boy would I love to hear what kind of small talk Kade will be making at the sidelines of his kids’ soccer games, but all three of them won at least a piece of something good that met their deepest needs. After reading the series, I don’t know how any reader could have thought that Kade would really be able to ever leave Kathleen without it killing him or that Blane wouldn’t put his brother’s life and happiness above his own. It was a very meaningful ending for both brothers to me.

  35. Perfect ending. While Kathleen loved both brothers and they both loved her in return, Kade was the one who really understood her, always believed in her while Blane chose to believe others and not her. Blane left her because he didn’t believe in her. Kade only left her when he was either trying to save her life or because he thought Blane was the better man for her–He left her only because he thought it was best for her. Who wouldn’t choose the one that not only loves you but believes in you. Great stories!

  36. Hi Tiffany. I agree with you and it was inevitable and I like Kade too. But obviously, one heart is about to bleed in this love triangle plot. It was so sad! I cried when she did not choose Blane. I am on Team Blane! But yeah, it looks like they are all happy in the end. Blane is the hero in this story and truly Love rules. I would actually would like to request that you do an alternative endings to make us Team Blane happy. Maybe something like 5.1 or include it in Extras page? Please Tiffany!!!!!

  37. Thanks Tiffany for some wonderful me time listening to the series as audio books. It is a testimony to your writing ability that you were able to make the characters so real, take pride in that and try not to be affected by negative comments

  39. Tiffany, I think you are amazing, to begin with, I can NOT believe people would react with such hatred to an end to a book, and to you, as everyone says, maybe it is because they were so involved with the characters, I was, I so looked forward to every single book and as I said to someone, I tripped over your 1st book 1 evening when I couldn’t sleep, there had to be an ending and I honestly thought as I read Point of No Return getting closer to the end that Kade was not going to live, maybe not Kathleen, surely someone was going to die, maybe when when they were getting married, maybe when they went to the hotel on their honeymoon (before it happened) I am glad no one did, I had to keep looking ahead to see if he was still alive. Once she realized she was in love with Kade everyone should of realized, there was no going back, even she knew after making love with him she could NOT go back to Blane and then when she found out she was pregnant how could anyone expect a different outcome, I get it, I would of done the same thing and she would of never had to worry about money anyway because we all know Blane would of provided for the baby even if she didn’t want it, I honestly thought it was Blane’s money he was giving her, I should of known better as Kathleen and Blane should of realized right away that something was wrong and that was why Kade left, I thought Kade would see her on his computer screen because he could see on his screen that his apartment wasn’t cleaned yet…and go running back, it took a bit longer. I am going to miss them so much, there hard to be an ending and the minute the made love and she realized she was in love with him I realized this was going to be the ending and Blane also knew, remember he went to her and asked her to keep his brother alive, he knew his brother couldn’t live with out her. Your letter said it all, I think you wrote the most AMAZING BOOKS, please do it again……….not everyone is going to like everything, I HATE SNAKE!!!

  40. I am definitely a Blane fan… and chapter 15 had me in tears! But i do agree with your explanation.. so i appreciate that very much! Kade and Kathleen really do make each other stronger.. as sad as i am to admit that 😉 I wasn’t too thrilled with Branna being in the picture… and with Blane for that matter.. Couldn’t you have written me in there to be with Blane?? lol. (i promise i am not crazy) I am a huge fan of your work and am waiting very impatiently for your next work!! You’re amazing!! 🙂

  48. I understood that Kathleen ended up with Kade and Blane’s story was fine. I am disappointed with the quality of writing in the last book. The series started out as a suspense romance but ended up more like 50 Shades of Gray. It was basically sex with 3 very short inserts of intrigue. I have bought all the books and have re-read them. I thought the over all story line was interesting and thank Tiffany for the enjoyable series but the last book was a disappointed.

  50. I found the story to be perfect as is. I was not in any way disappointed with how the series went and was very nervous reading the last book when I heard it was sad. But I didn’t find it sad. I felt it ended the way it was supposed to end. Thank you for a great series and I can’t wait to read your new series in December. <3

  51. Can I just say that I absolutely loved this series! I was so torn between Kade and Blane, I felt like I was Kathleen choosing between them as I read. I stayed up super later every night just to read them and find out what happened! I am glad of the ending and that she ended up with Kade I was always rooting for him, but I did love Blane too. I was sad he didn’t end up with someone necessarily but completely understand why and love that he is still close with Kathleen and Kade. I am so sad that this book series is over! I am like now what do I read?! I need my sexy Kade and Blane fix! I will definitely be writing about this review on my blog!

  52. Thank you Tiffany for a wonderful series! I found the ending perfect. It’s no secret I was Team Kade, but you made me remember what a good man Blane could be. I understand everyone’s HEA is different and I think it’s great that Blane remained a good man because Kathleen was in his life. Now I will wait Impatiently 🙂 for Kade’s book. Fantastic job making these characters come alive!

  53. Loved the series and love, love, loved the final book. I could have gone either way. I was a Blane fan, then Kade, back to Blane, etc. I can’t wait for your new series. I truly enjoyed Blank Slate as well. You are one of my favorite authors. Thanks for the adventure and look forward to what’s next!

  55. I loved the series, but the ending left me sad. I feel like Blane deserves his own love story now. I was team Kade, but now I just feel sad. Romance novels are my escape and I had to read another one so this feeling of sadness would disappear.

  56. I just read an advance copy of Kade’s Turn, and all I can say is…WOW!!! If you are a Kade fan, obviously you will love it. If you are a Blane fan, trust me, you are going too want to read this! It really makes so many connections just click. Book five becomes so much clearer. Without being a spoiler, I will just say two words…Senator Keaston…Grrrrr!!! If you are as obsessed with this series as I am, grab Kade’s Turn as soon as it is released!

  57. I grew up believing in right and wrong. While I thought the book we very well written,I have not had a series affect me so strongly.
I felt that from the first kade went out of his way to screw his brother over
and in the end the senator was right about kathleen and what she wanted from blame.
I felt she started as a heroine and went down from there.
Jade showed he didn’t care about his brother when he said”as long as I got the girl”.
Jaded character went against everything she said she believed in and how she was raised . I do understand that kade couldn’t survive without her,but screwing over his brother and then rubbing it in was cold.
Like I said the books were very well written, but in my mind there was only a loser and no winners in the end.

        • Tiffany you will be happy to know that my wife is going to read the series because it affected me so much and she and I will then discuss it.
I do think that you are a excellent writer.
Do you write anything other than Romance?
Thank you for reading my post.

          • Hi Eugene,

I’m glad your wife is going to read the series. Do please let me know what she thinks. I’m thrilled the series affected you as much as it did though I am sorry the ending was disappointing to you. As an avid reader myself, I’m familiar with the feeling. As a writer, it’s always disappointing to me if someone feels the time they invested in reading one of my books was time wasted. Yet, I also know it’s impossible to please everyone.

I write Romantic Suspense and some books have more plot versus romance than others. You might enjoy my standalone novel BLANK SLATE, or my current release IN HIS SHADOW.

            Best wishes,
            Tiffany

          • I never said that it was time wasted.
I enjoyed the series on the whole.I just didn’t like the ending and that is just me.
It brought back bad memories from my past.
As I said I enjoyed your writing.
            Thank you

  58. Hi Tiffany,

I just recently read your Kathleen Turner series and want to say that even though the ending was painful, it was also touching and beautiful. I was on Team Blane throughout the series but grew to love Kade, as well. Even though Blane still has an edge over Kade (for me), I think the ending made sense. It also made sense that Blane would still be in love with Kathleen after years had passed. He was not the type of person who falling in love came easy to and so when he did, it was profound and meant something. It wouldn’t be realistic if, after his sacrificing, he just moved on and didn’t look back – especially because she is still in his life to a degree.

I do hope that she will hold a piece of his heart forever and that deep down a part of Kathleen is still in love with him too (though I have no doubts about how much she loves Kade). I find beauty in Blane’s self-sacrifice and this was a fitting end to a perfect and beautiful love story/tragedy. Thank you for sharing your gift of writing and giving us a place to escape to.

    • Hi Jana,

Thank you so much for your note! It made my day. I’m thrilled you enjoyed the series and thought the ending made sense. What you saw in the story is exactly what I meant in that Blane was not the type of person who easily falls in love so of course he’d always feel something for Kathleen, and that in the end his self-sacrifice is part of the story and who he was. It’s so lovely to hear that what I intended came through to a reader! Thanks again for taking the time to stop here at my website and tell me. Happy Holidays and best wishes for 2015!

      Sincerely,
      Tiffany

  59. I loved this series! I just recently discovered your books and “binge” read the series. I love the way you ended the series and think it was the only way that made sense. Yes, Blane will always love Kat, but he was not good for her. His type of love was constricting, while Kade helped her to grow as a person. Kade also loved her enough to let her go.

It was an amazing series and you have gained a faithful reader. I’ll keep buying your books for as long as you keep writing them!
